John obtained his Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law (Common Professional Examination) and Bachelor of Laws from the Manchester Metropolitan University before obtaining his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong.
John completed his 2-year traineeship at our firm as a trainee solicitor and became a qualified solicitor in 2026.
Prior to joining our firm as a trainee solicitor, John served the Correctional Services Department for 10 years with experience in handling civil litigation cases including personal injury, judicial review, habeas corpus and small claim matters and providing statutory supervision to persons released from Detention Centre and Post-Release Supervision of Prisoners Scheme and compiling of pre-sentencing suitability reports.
Throughout his training at our firm, John gained experience in representing clients at various stages of criminal defence, from attending legal visits at the Police, the Immigration Department and other law enforcement agencies, to bail applications, trials, pleas in mitigations, appeals and other applications. On the civil side, John gained experience in handling cases involving areas such as commercial and contractual disputes, bankruptcy and companies’ winding up, probate, will drafting, matrimonial and personal injuries.
John is delighted to meet clients of different needs and to provide feasible solutions to their problems.
John reads and writes Chinese and English, speaks Cantonese, English and Mandarin.
